Rycote was founded in Stroud England 1969, by sound Recordist John Gizzard, who first set out to make windshields for location sound production.

Much has happened since, and today, Rycote is a well-known manufacturer of some of the best wind and shock protection on the market, creating solutions for both modular and non-modular systems.
