Schoeps microphones is often a favourite pick for instrumental recordings but even for film and TV productions where their cardioid directional microphones and the CMiT5 series with shotgun/ super-cardioid directionality are popular choices. The CMiT5 microphone have set new standards for gun mikes with its low coloration off-axis and the way sound levels decrease off-axis.
